Collective bargaining is an important tool in the fight against violence and harassment

unisol.jpgOn February 8, 2020, the Central Council of the University Solidarity trade union was adopted as the basis for the “Recommendation for Bargaining Agreement”. The section on Labor Protection contains a provision stating that the administration and trade unions undertake to take measures aimed at preventing and suppressing violence and harassment, including gender-related violence.

The definitions of the new ILO Convention No. 190 are used in the Recommendation. The University Solidarity sees its participation in creating and maintaining a safe environment n higher education as its important task. Especially since in the new ILO standard the education sector, along with healthcare, the service sector, transport, the entertainment industry, etc., is assigned to the group of sectors with increased risks of violence and harassment.
